Entrepreneurs, get your questions answered!

Hosted by Venture Forward, U.Va.'s start-up mentoring network, First Tuesdays provides new and experienced entrepreneurs with the opportunity to connect, bounce ideas off one another and get their burning questions answered. Venture Forward is a U.Va. Innovation initiative.

Aspiring and seasoned entrepreneurs from the University and the community are invited to attend this monthly gathering, held on the first Tuesday of each month. Unless otherwise specified, all events will be held at the OpenGrounds Corner Studio (1400 W. Main St., Charlottesville, VA 22903), with light refreshments provided.
 

Entrepreneurship Mentoring for Students

As a follow-up to the U.Va. Entrepreneurship Cup, we are hosting the final First Tuesdays event of 2012 as an opportunity to provide short, individual mentoring sessions to all students with entrepreneurial ideas. 

Please come out to HackCville (#9 Elliewood Avenue on the Corner) on Tues., Dec. 4, from 5-7 p.m. for refreshments and one-on-one mentoring.  Some of Charlottesville’s most experienced entrepreneurs will be there to answer your burning questions.

Please reply to lianneatvirginia [dot] edu to let us know that you’re coming  - include a brief description of your concept so that we can help to make some good matches.

First Tuesdays partners include the Batten Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Darden School of Business, the E* Society, the Entrepreneurship Group at the McIntire School of CommerceStudent Entrepreneurs for Economic Development and the Charlottesville Business Innovation Council.

Communications Speed Coaching

Venture Forward on the second Tuesday of this month to get your burning marketing and communications questions answered! Hosted by U.Va. Innovation and the Charlottesville Business Innovation Council, this month’s event will be held at the Darden i.Lab at the Darden School of Business.

Local professionals will be available for “speed-coaching” in a variety of hot communications topics, including:

U.Va. Innovation’s own Morgan Estabrook, senior manager of marketing and communications, will facilitate.

  • Has a team that wants to develop their idea through the design thinking process (an innovative approach to turning abstract ideas into practical application that promises to revolutionize your ideas)?

Then, join us for a Design Thinking Workshop on Oct. 2 at 5:30 p.m. at OpenGrounds. Space is limited and is on a first come, first serve basis. Students interested in submiting an application to the U.Va. E-Cup are encouraged to attend.
